But his employer would not let him serve any customer because he concluded that Frank "didn't have enough common sense to serve the customers."

Today, the company has grown to become the world's largest motorcycle manufacturer and one of the most profitable automakersbeating giant automaker such as GM and Chrysler. With a global network of 437 subsidiaries. Honda develops, manufactures and markets a wide variety of products ranging from small general-purpose engines and scooters to specialty sports cars.

Akio Morita, founder of giant electric household products, Sony Corporation, first product was an electric rice cooker, only sold 100 cookers (because it burned rice rather than cooking). The US Fair Credit Billing Act allows non-application of finance charges for wrongly billed amounts and stipulates that the cardissuing institution sends full explanation and statement of amounts owed in response to all complaints of wrong billing. The US Congress passed the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act 1996 which lays down procedures to be followed by debt collectors in locating the debtor, method and time of contacting the debtor, not subject the debtor to harassment, oppression and abuse and not use intimidation or misrepresentation to collect debt. There are strict stipulations for the debt collectors in carrying out legal actions against debtors and the debt collectors are liable to civil liability in case they violate the law. The Federal Trade Commission and other regulatory bodies are charged with enforcing the provisions of this law.

During this month of Halloween....Animax channel (715) is airing quite a number of spooky animes such as Blood+, xxx Holic, Hell Girl and many more. Although I'm not an anime fan but the one that I found most interesting is Ayakashi : Samurai Horror Tales. There are three stories in this series, Yotsuya Kaidan,the story of a wife betrayed by her husband who seeks vengeance even in death, Bakeneko,the story of a mysterious cat monster with a vendetta against a certain family and Tenshu Monogatari,the story of forbidden love between a goddess and a human. Both Yotsuya Kaidan and Bakeneko has been aired, these two stories are very sad more than horrifying especially Bakeneko, my favourite. The ending theme song "Haru No Katami" performed by Chitose Hajime, is a lovely and sad song, the lyrics are like a poetry.

It was fitting that the red carpet premiere of Gus Van Sants Milk opened with a riotous performance by March Fourth, a group of cabaret-inspired high school marching band refugees (and the requisite color guard hula girls and be-stilted cheerleaders), for, as visiting author John Hodgman put it at last weeks Wordstock, Portlands chief exports appear to be pot, cheddar, and neo-burlesque.
And its just as apropos that, though the action of Milk is centered in 1970s San Francisco specifically a then only grudgingly gay-friendly Castro – the film received a red carpet premiere at the stately Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall in director Gus Van Sants own Portland. In what is an obvious novelty in the area, rolling out the red carpet for a bona fide Hollywood event attracted a smattering of the well-coiffed and the overdone film enthusiasts all, guests rolled up in everything from opera-appropriate garb to lucite heels. And it being Portland, many of them took in the momentous event with cocktail in hand.

It wasn’t until she sat down on the couch with her glass of Rosé that Jacqui realised quite how horrible her situation had become. The National Television Awards was about to begin on ITV. Over the next two hours any number of silly soap actors would preen and prance about, congratulating themselves for their dramatic ‘achievements’ of the past year. And Jacqui had been looking forward to it all week.
‘How sad is that?’ she thought ’Twenty-seven and the highlight of my week is the National Bloomin’ Telly Awards! Is this what my life has become?’
It hadn’t always been like this. Before Steven had left her she’d rarely planned her evenings around the goggle box. She had still kept tabs on her favourite soaps of course, but if she missed an episode or two it was no big deal. Nowadays though, missing even a few minutes of Corrie was enough to bring about a rise in her stress levels.
Her usually strong resolve gave way a bit. It always did whenever she thought of Steven. It was barely perceptible to any onlookers, but had she been sat in front of a mirror she would have recognised that ever so slight down-turn to the corners of her lips. Her eyes were also glazing over. She choked back the tears before they had the chance to form and took a long gulp of wine. She wasn’t going to cry again! She had spent the last few months regularly tearing up as the cold winter evenings set in and she was all cried out. Or at least, that’s what she told herself.
It was pathetic really. Even before he had left, Jacqui had known that something wasn’t right in their relationship. She herself had entertained the odd fantasy of leaving him but in truth though, she knew she never would have. Steven had been her perfect man. A lovely, lovely bloke who was kind and caring and devastatingly handsome. As she had done many times since the separation, Jacqui tried to puzzle out how things had gone so wrong. Was it her fault? Could it have been?
She knew she hadn’t been as ‘lively’ in the bedroom as he may have liked, but then it wasn’t like she was completely frigid. She had dressed up for him regularly, with exciting effect and often found herself thrilled by his reaction. They hadn’t been making love as frequently as either of them would have liked, but that was the way it went after a few years wasn’t it? Well, yes and no. In their case, that hadn’t been the whole story.
During the last year she had found herself increasingly depressed. It was mostly her career, or lack of one, that brought her down, but the death of her father had hit her hard too. He had always been her idol, the one she looked up to, though she never realised it until he was gone. Steven had been patient to the point of sainthood, but after a while she knew it had begun to grate on him. He felt like she wasn’t trying hard enough to pull herself up and to feel better, but that couldn’t be further from the truth. She had tried. She had stared into that bathroom mirror every morning and told herself all manner of positive things.’ You will feel better’, ‘You will get that promotion’, ‘Today will be a good day’ etc. But nothing had worked.
The irony of it was that she had worked through those issues now. She felt better in herself and was fairly happy with her role of producer for the local radio station. If only Steven could have held out for a little longer
And now came the tears. They were inevitable once she started down this road. She shook a little as she sobbed, but it was short lived and she pulled herself together as best she could. She tried to think it through rationally. She was still young, still quite attractive in most circles and she didn’t have the financial worries of many of her friends. Steven had left her with the house, which though small, was comfy and cosy and had everything she could want in it. Except for him of course.
She missed him terribly. Most of the anger she had had at his hasty exit had seeped away and in its place was a hole she could only fill with sadness. She had stopped calling him when she heard he was seeing someone else, but it hadn’t been easy. It was crazy really. No matter how many times she had begged and been turned down, she always felt that his coming back was just one more phone call away. Thankfully, she had passed that embarrassing stage and had moved on to the ‘lonely but accepting’ stage.
The awards show started, but Jacqui felt too restless to concentrate. It was funny really; when Steven had been there she could quite happily sit all evening in front of the tube. Perhaps it was just being near him that she enjoyed, lying in his arms, chatting about silly things and generally enjoying each other’s company. All the things we take for granted when we’re with the one we love.
She left her glass on the coffee table and headed for the hallway mirror. The tears had ruined her makeup, but she was still relatively pleased with what she saw. The woman looking back at her was pretty and slim with beautiful green eyes and sleek blonde hair which hung down to her shoulders. She smiled despite the weary sadness she felt inside. She would find someone else. It might take a while, but she was happy being single for a bit longer. It wasn’t so bad after all.
It wasn’t that she needed a partner, as she would often proclaim to her mates, but she knew that in her heart she did want one. And was that such a bad thing? Did it make her any less of a woman for wanting a special someone to share her life with? No, of course it didn’t. It did trouble her that she was single and alone at twenty-seven; she had always thought her life would be sorted by now, but it wasn’t too late. Yes, she wanted a partner and she wanted children someday too, but it could wait a little longer.
She held her head up and fixed her reflection with a stoic look. It was time to get back out there. Not necessarily in a man-hunting vein, but it was time to stop hiding away and start enjoying life again. All too often recently, Jacqui had been turning down invitations to nights out and shopping trips in favour of going home early to a ready-meal for one and an evening of tearful reminiscing. But that had to stop and she knew it. As hard as it felt, it was time to get moving again. She could start small, maybe a quick coffee and a bit of retail therapy with Sarah this Saturday. It wouldn’t take long to rebuild her social life; it would just take a little bit of effort on her behalf.
She nodded to the mirror, stared at her reflection one last time and headed back to the living room. She turned off the tv, necked the last few sips of wine and headed upstairs to pick her outfit for work in the morning. Tomorrow would be the first day of her new life.
And she wanted to look fantastic for it.

Let’s start at the beginning- the real beginning. I’ve liked briar smoking pipes since I was a kid- and not necessarily to smoke either; but to possess and to work with (or fool with). I was twelve when I went to a nearby drug store and spied something special- two packs of Holiday pipe tobacco and a briar pipe, all for 79 cents. Made that pipe look as if it had gone through all sorts of catastrophes and come out sort of all right. I was pleased.

Cba and Oli opened the keep out signs door and slithered in without a sound. Together they took out everything on that section of the room. Soon, a crack of light appeared from a corner. Keep pushing Oli said for incouragement. After five minutes the secret door was almost completely opened. They heard someone heading for the other door, it sounded like Rat Wraith! Oh no! they screamed in a too-low-to-hear voice. They pushed the door with all their strength and finally opened it! They stepped outdie the door and without looking around, they closed the door behind them right before Rat Wraith entered the room.
    Now that they were safe, they turned around and saw a green plain that stretched for miles and miles. A big blue sky watched over the field, with a golden-yellow sun hovering right in the middle of the sky. Bluebirds sang their sweet songs and flowers of different colors danced along. Its all so beautiful. Cba exclaimed in amazement. Oli nodded. For a long while they ran around and rolled in the grass. They held birds on the tip of their finger. They sang soothing songs to the baby flowers to help them grow. But unfortunetly they had forgotten their cameras.
    At least we had the chance to experience the magic of it all - and together too. Oli peacefully said with a big grin on her face. They were lieing on the grass on top of a big hill, watching the clouds roam by. And we had a lot of fun. Cba added. They pointed out what each cloud looked like and ate some berries. But after a couple of hours they decided to head back. When they got to Cbas they both took a shower and talked about their great adventures they shared today. The berries were tasty and all, but it was hours since they had a real meal, so they ate some pizza and then fell asleep (they were very tired after all the fun they had).
    It was now 8:00 pm. Cba had packed all her favorite belongings in a suitcase with Olis help. They were both crying more than ever before. Both friends had promised themselves theyd be brave, but that was too big a word. The pillows they lied on were wet from tears, their hearts were soar from the truth they could no longer deny, and their friendship, well, they both knew that as hard as they tried, it wouldnt last forever. Eventually their memories would fade away, theyd find new friends, and their lives would go on. They could no longer hold on, they had to move on and find a new shoulder to cry on; a new person to smile and share their special moments with. They just couldnt live in a fantasy anyone.
    They heard the honk of the car, and knew it was time. Cba grabbed her suitcase; Oli grabbed her album and coat. Cba noticed the photo on the floor. Cba handed Oli the picture. You keep it, as a memory. Oli insisted, still both friends crying. Cba wiped a tear; Oli sniffed. Cba looked at her friend, trying to be brave for the both of them. Oli felt a knot in her stomach, her heart pounded hard, and her mind yelled at her more than a million times to say , but she nodded anyways, knowing it wasnt a question. Then they walked outside together. Oli almost broke into tears seeing a for sale sign on the front of the house. A whole bunch of friends surrounded the front yard. Some friends were weeping like two year olds, others bit their lips to stop themselves from crying. When they all saw Cba they rushed over to her from every direction. They hugged her, told her how much they would miss her, and wished her good luck. After everyone said goodbye, Cba squeezed her way out of the croud. All the friends cried and waved at her. Oli stood in front of the crowd, next to Cba. Just remember that there will always be a special place for you in my heart. Oli told Cba. Same here Cba agreed. The two best friends hugged and cried. Cba walked over to the car, right before she stepped into the car Oli called out Goodbye Cba! Ill miss you! ll miss you a whole lot too! Cba called back. They waved to each other sadly. Cba got in the car, looking back at Oli. Oli was looking at her too. The car started its engine and drove off, getting smaller and smaller every second. One by one each friend left, seeing no point of staring at a car that would soon disappear. Very quickly everyone was gone, everyone except Oli. She stood looking at the car, which now looked the size of an ant. Oli stood at that spot as if Cba was still there. Cba and Oli both said, looking at the sun and hoping each other was listening. Just then, a tear fell down both their cheeks at the same time.

What should they do? Every writers work/life situation is different enough that chucking self-employment for a steady gig is a decision only they can make.
But there are common pros and cons they can consider while deciding what to do.
