I have had one of those weeks.

I don't normally talk about work on here, and I don't plan to start now, but I will say briefly that work has been going very well. I have had some very nice things said about me recently and have gotten asked to help with several interesting projects. I also get to work with a great group of people. I'm very thankful for my job.
Also, despite the fact that we're going to court next week (at which point, things may turn ugly--who knows?) The Ex and I have been getting along pretty well lately. We had a talk the other day where he apologized for some things specifically, and other things in a more general sense, stating, "If I could go back, I would do a lot of things differently."
He has said this several times at this point, and I'm fairly certain that marrying me wasn't the thing he would do differently, although I've definitely been wrong before!
He also had some nice things to say about how thankful he is to me for having Daniel. I have thought about this quite a bit, and I feel the same way. Without The Ex, I wouldn't have Daniel. I truly think this is the reason that we met.
And speaking of our court date, I think I'm at peace with this as well. I don't know what the end result will be, but regardless of the outcome, it gets us one step closer to finally having this RIDICULOUSLY LONG DIVORCE FINALIZED! so any outcome will be a good one. I really believe that. I also believe a party will be in order once this thing is done with!! But more about that at a later date. :)
And finally, Daniel. Despite the fact that he now refuses to have his diaper changed in any sensical fashion (instead forcing me to try to slap a diaper on him while he's standing up, which is like nailing jello to a tree), despite his sudden resistance to sleeping at a normal time, despite his ability to completely destroy the house in the blink of an eye...he is an absolute wonder. Today he said two new words--"bye bye" and "up!" I am head-over-heels for this pudgy little blond-haired maniac.
I don't know what next week will bring, or the week after that, but for now, I'm enjoying life.
